See Yourself

The "F" Word | Week 5 | May 7

Forgiveness means seeing yourself as God sees you!

1. God owns everything!

Psalm 50:9-12:

But I do not need the bulls from your barns or the goats from your pens. For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills.

I know every bird on the mountains, and all the animals of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it.

2. All sin is ultimately against God!

Psalm 51:1-4:

Have mercy on me, o God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt.

Purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night.

Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just.

Romans 4:5-8:

But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.

David also spoke of this when he described the happiness of those who are declared righteous without working for it:

"Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight. Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of sin."

Psalm 51:1:

Have mercy on me, o God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins.
