What You Have to Say is More Important

How NOT To Have a Conversation | Week 3 | September 24

Conversation:

"a talk, especially an informal one, between two or more people, in which news and ideas are exchanged.”

How (Not) to Have a Conversation:

What you have to say is more important than what you have to hear.

“There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There and known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don’t know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don’t know we don’t know.”

Proverbs 18:13:

Spouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and foolish.

"You know what I just don't understand. . ."

vs

"I'd be very interested to learn the reason why. . .""

What you have to hear is more important than what you have to say!

Proverbs 18:2:

Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions.

What you have to hear is more important than what you have to say!

Proverbs 1:8-9:

My child, listen when your father corrects you. Don’t neglect your mother’s instruction. What you learn from them will crown you with grace and be a chain of honor around your neck.

What you have to hear is more important than what you have to say!
